South Tangerang – The Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus bagi Mahasiswa Baru / PPKMB) at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi (STIE) Ganesha was successfully held over three full days, September 15–17. This event marked an important milestone for new students to begin their academic journey with enthusiasm and a deep understanding of campus culture. A variety of sessions were delivered by leaders and expert speakers, providing valuable knowledge for their future.
The most anticipated highlight took place on the second day, when STIE Ganesha had the honor of welcoming Sigit Purnomo Said, S.AP, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Commission VIII, widely known as Pasha Ungu. In an engaging discussion session, Sigit shared his experiences and valuable insights about his role as a public servant.
Sigit emphasized the importance of boundless enthusiasm for learning. “The spirit of pursuing knowledge knows no boundaries of time and space. I believe that the burning passion from Sabang to Merauke has brought you here,” he said. He also praised the strong public trust in STIE Ganesha. “I am proud to see so many faces from various regions, especially from Java, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi, who chose STIE Ganesha as their campus of choice,” Sigit remarked. “I myself am a wanderer, and I know the struggle. You are living proof that dreams can be pursued anywhere.” His presence gave new students extra motivation to start their academic journey with strong determination.
In his address, Dr. M. Arief Noor, M.Pd., M.M., Chairman of STIE Ganesha, warmly welcomed the new students. “This campus is your second home. Here, you will not only learn economic theories but also build character and sharpen your leadership skills,” he said.
The academic session was delivered by Vice Chairman I for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, Mr. Ahmad Fadli, S.E., M.M., who explained the lecture system and curriculum. “Good time management and active participation in class are the keys to academic success. Be adaptive and proactive learners,” he advised.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairman II for Finance, Mr. Fuad Gagarin, S.E., M.M., reminded students of the importance of financial literacy. “Understanding personal financial management is one of the most important skills in the digital era. Start planning your expenses and investments early,” he said.
On the student affairs side, Vice Chairman III for Student Affairs and Cooperation, Mr. Syarif Hidayatullah, S.Kom., S.E., M.M., encouraged students to be active in organizations. “This campus provides many opportunities for you to develop yourselves. Take advantage of every opportunity to engage in organizations and build networks. Organizations are the true laboratory of leadership,” he explained.
Student Affairs Advisor, Mr. Abdul Kohar, M.Pd., M.M., added a message about the importance of ethics and integrity. “As students, you are the reflection of the nation. Uphold personal and campus reputation by maintaining ethics and integrity in every action,” he stressed.
From the technical perspective of lectures, Head of Academic and Student Affairs Bureau, Mr. Moh. Tahang, S.E., M.M., M.Ak., provided practical guidance. “The Academic Information System (SIAKAD) is your main tool. Master this system to ensure smooth academic and administrative processes,” he explained.
Head of the Bachelor of Management Study Program, Mr. Zubair Arza, S.E., M.M., gave insights into career prospects in management. “The job market needs professionals who not only master theory but also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Prepare yourselves now,” he urged.
Senior students also took part in sharing their experiences. President of BEM STIE Ganesha, Muhammad Nur Hidayat, welcomed the freshmen with warmth. “Welcome to the big family of STIE Ganesha. We are here to support and collaborate with each other. Let’s work together to build a better campus,” he said.
Chairman of the PPKMB Organizing Committee, Yasir Rumuar, expressed his pride in the smooth running of the event. “PPKMB is the result of our team’s hard work. We hope this spirit of togetherness will continue to thrive and become a strong foundation for your growth on this campus,” he concluded.
The presence of inspiring speakers and their relevant messages made PPKMB STIE Ganesha not just a formal agenda but also a meaningful experience for all new students.
