Depok, 18 June 2025 — The Student Executive Board (BEM) of STIE Ganesha carried out one of its flagship community service programs through an initiative titled “Gerakan Literasi Seribu Buku” (Thousand Book Literacy Movement) at SMPN 34 Depok.

This initiative aimed to foster reading interest among students and enrich youth literacy by providing access to educational and inspiring reading materials. As part of the program, BEM STIE Ganesha donated hundreds of books to the school and held motivational sessions and light discussions with the students.

The event was met with great enthusiasm from participants, teachers, and students alike, who welcomed the students’ initiative as a sincere contribution to the education sector.

Wahyuni Wulandari, the event coordinator, expressed that this initiative serves as a tangible form of student contribution to the community, particularly in the field of literacy.

“We want to show that students can be present and engaged with the community—not just talking about theories in classrooms. Through this literacy movement, we hope to cultivate a love for reading from an early age and help broaden the horizons of our younger peers at SMPN 34 Depok,” said Wahyuni.

Supporting this, the President of BEM STIE Ganesha, Muhammad Nur Hidayat, expressed his appreciation and hopes that similar movements will be continued by future BEM leadership.

“Gerakan Literasi Seribu Buku is a concrete example of how students can make a direct impact. I strongly support the continuation of programs like this—not just as a one-time effort, but as a legacy of service for future generations of student leaders,” he affirmed.

Through this program, BEM STIE Ganesha reaffirmed its commitment to carrying out socially impactful activities and strengthening the role of students as agents of change who are responsive to community needs.
