Collaboration with Industry: Empowering Dimsum MSMEs and Cricket Farming in South Tangerang

South Tangerang – A group of lecturers from Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi (STIE) Ganesha conducted a Community Service Program (PKM) by visiting a Dimsum production site and cricket farming facility in Pondok Benda, Pamulang, on Saturday, May 25, 2024. The event, themed "Dimsum Production and Cricket Farming for Community Welfare," began at 08:00 WIB at the STIE Ganesha campus, proceeded with a visit to the business location, and concluded back at the campus at 12:00 WIB.

Fisy Amalia, SE., MM., Secretary of the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) at STIE Ganesha, stated that the goal of this PKM is to apply the lecturers' knowledge to benefit the community, in line with the Tridarma of Higher Education. “Community service is one of the obligations of lecturers to share knowledge and collaborate with the community,” said Fisy.

According to Fisy, the participating lecturers are expected to conduct research related to Dimsum MSMEs and cricket farming. The research topics include: Digital Supply Chain Management in Cricket Farming, The Impact of Digitalization on Marketing and Distribution of MSME Products, Financial Analysis of MSMEs in the Digital Era, MSME Financial Management, and Training and Human Resource Development in MSMEs.

Jhandriansyah, a Dimsum entrepreneur and cricket farmer, expressed his gratitude for the visit from STIE Ganesha lecturers. “The knowledge shared has greatly helped us improve production efficiency, marketing, and financial management of our business,” he said. Jhandriansyah emphasized the importance of collaboration with academics for business development. “We really need guidance from STIE Ganesha to grow more rapidly,” he added.

Tohiroh, SE., MM., the PKM Coordinator, explained that the event was held at Jl. Benda Permai III, Kampung Parakan, RT 06 RW 09, Pondok Benda, Pamulang, South Tangerang. “We hope this activity can provide new insights and help manage cricket farming businesses more professionally,” said Tohiroh.

During the event, Sutariyono, S.SI., M.M., a lecturer from the S1 Management Program at STIE Ganesha, presented on "Modern Management and Stages of Cricket Farming." He highlighted the promising prospects of cricket farming given its various benefits and competitive market price.

Through this activity, STIE Ganesha continues to strive to make a tangible contribution to society and support the development of local MSMEs.
